Ethics Complaints
If matters involving unethical behavior arise, PMI offers a formal ethics complaint process.
PMI takes all ethical cases brought to its attention very seriously. We direct all cases to the PMI Ethics Review Committee (ERC) to be reviewed and acted upon as needed.
PMI, through the ERC, exercises ultimate authority to resolve and end all ethics matters brought to the Institute, regardless of the circumstances of the case. By applying for membership in the Institute, by applying for certification by the Institute, and by seeking to serve PMI in a volunteer capacity, individuals agree that they will accept the exclusive authority of the Institute to apply the PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and other relevant PMI policies to resolve ethics matters brought to the attention of the Institute.
Filing a complaint
If you’re seeking to file a complaint, you must complete the Complaint Template. Please note that the Code only applies to PMI members, credential holders and volunteers. These are the only individuals who may be named in an ethics complaint. The Code does not apply to organizations.
Complete the ethics complaint, print and sign it, mark it CONFIDENTIAL and mail it with any supporting documents to:
