  1. What advice can you offer about submitting entries?
    • Start the process early.
    • Designate an award team with a lead nominator who gathers all necessary information, completes the paperwork and submits it on time, and acts as a liaison between PMI and the team.
    • Read the application package carefully.
    • Contact the awards@pmi.org with questions as early as possible.

  3. Who is eligible?

    Eligibility varies from award to award. Some awards are limited to PMI members, others are not. Please review the award descriptions for details.

  4. What is the nomination process?

    The purpose, eligibility, criteria and nomination procedures for each award appear on PMI.org. Information also is available from the awards@pmi.org. It will make things easier in the transition.

  5. PMI Professional Awards Program Release Form

    All applicants and nominees for PMI Professional Awards must sign and return the PMI Professional Awards Program Release Form granting PMI the non-exclusive right to use any submitted copyrighted materials for any business related purpose, including press releases, and other marketing and promotional materials, including but not limited to videos as well as case studies. This document will not count toward the stated page count maximum.

    • Lead Nominators that are nominating an individual must forward this form to the nominee and ensure that the nominee signs, dates and returns the original PMI Release form that must be included in the nomination package.

  6. PMI Permissions

    All materials submitted for a PMI Professional Award, which includes any PMI trademark, logo or copyrighted content from any PMI publication, will require permission from PMI in the form of a permission agreement or license. Award presentation packages must provide the date and title of the permission agreement or license. If no PMI Intellection Property has been used, please provide confirmation. This document will not count toward the stated page count maximum.

    Note: Any submission containing PMI intellectual property without permission or a license from PMI will not be considered eligible for an award and may be referred to the PMI Legal Department in order to ensure compliance.

  7. Is there an application fee for the awards?

    There are no application fees for any of the PMI awards.

  8. Who selects winners?

    It varies. For example, the PMI Project of the Year submissions go through two levels of evaluation by a different set of judges at each level. All reviewers are experienced practitioners who have successfully demonstrated project management expertise. See individual awards information for details.

  9. When and where are awards presented?

    Most awards are announced at the PMI Global Congress-North America in the fourth quarter.
