SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading member association for the project management profession, will convene in Sydney, Australia, at the PMI® Global Congress 2008 Asia Pacific, on 3-5 March. The three-day event will be held at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney, and it will offer opportunities for project managers to learn about worldwide trends as they apply to everyday decisions.
“Organizations around the world are feeling the competitive pressures that come with globalization, such as shorter time-to-market windows and managing in longer and longer supply chains,” said PMI CEO Gregory Balestrero. “To achieve success in the marketplace, organizations are recognizing that project management is critical not only to project goals, but to the ultimate success or failure of the organization as a whole.”
Project management is a growing profession in the Asia/Pacific region where the increase in project managers earning the Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential increased by 21 percent from 2006 to 2007. PMP is the PMI credential that validates a project manager’s project management knowledge and experience. Worldwide, there are more than 260,000 PMP credential holders.
PMI Global Congress 2008 Asia Pacific is the premier project management, educational and networking event in the Asia Pacific region. Project managers learn new techniques, tools and best practices, gaining a global and regional perspective of their profession.
