MALTA – Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading member association for the project management profession, will convene in island nation of Malta at the PMI Global Congress 2008 — EMEA (Europe-Middle East-Africa) on 19-21 May.The three-day event will be held at the Hilton Hotel in Malta, and it will offer opportunities for project managers to learn about worldwide trends as they apply to everyday decisions.
“Organizations around the world are feeling the competitive pressures that come with globalization, such as schedule compression, shorter time-to-market windows and managing in longer and longer supply chains,” said Gregory Balestrero, chief executive officer of PMI. “To achieve success in the marketplace, organizations must recognize that project management is critical not only to project goals but to the ultimate success of the organization.”
Project management is a growing profession, and membership in PMI in the EMEA region grew 11.5 percent to almost 30,000 members during 2007. Worldwide, PMI has more than 260,000 members in 170 plus countries.
PMI Global Congress 2008 — EMEA is the premier project management, educational and networking event in the Europe-Middle-East-Africa region. Project managers learn new techniques, tools and best practices, gaining a global and regional perspective of their profession.
The congress offers attendees more than 60 educational presentations within 13 areas of focus to meet a variety of career development paths.
