ATLANTA, GEORGIA, USA – Project Management Institute (PMI®), the world’s leading membership association for the project management profession, has awarded The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, with the PMI Professional Development Provider of the Year Award -academic category.  The award recognizes exceptional skills in the delivery and implementation of a professional development program in project management.

The Chang School’s Certificate in Project Management Program reaches more than 1,800 students each year and covers all of the essential components of effective project management.  The program is structured to offer specialized courses in three academic streams –business and information management; community and health services management; and architecture, engineering, and construction.  The program’s core courses are available online through a distance learning option and through evening classes. Most instructors (85 percent) work in industry.  More than 50 percent of them have earned the Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential, and more than 20 percent are volunteers in local PMI chapters.

The PMI Professional Development Provider of the Year Award - academic category was presented on 6 October 2007 during the 2007 Awards Ceremony held in conjunction with the PMI Global Congress—North America in Atlanta.
