SAO PAULO, BRAZIL – Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading member association for the project management profession, will hold its PMI Global Congress 2008 - Latin America here on 11-13 August. The three-day event will be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Sao Paulo, and it will offer opportunities for project managers to learn about worldwide trends as they apply to everyday decisions.
“Worldwide organizations are confronted with many challenges – the economy and competition to mention two,” said Gregory Balestrero, president and chief executive officer of PMI. “Project, program and portfolio management are key to successful organizations being able to overcome these challenges to achieve their goals on time and within budget even when schedules are compressed, budgets are cut and staffing is limited.”
Project management is a growing profession, and membership in PMI has grown to more than 11,500 members in Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. Worldwide, PMI has more than 265,000 members in 174 countries.
PMI Global Congress 2008 - Latin America is the premier project management, educational and networking event in the Latin America region. Project managers learn new techniques, tools and best practices, gaining a global and regional perspective of their profession.
The congress offers attendees more than 60 educational presentations within 13 areas of focus to meet a variety of career development paths.
