Mr. Archibald was a participant in the earliest discussions regarding the need for an organization of project management practitioners to share information and issues of concern. The sixth member to join PMI, Mr. Archibald presented a paper at the PMI formative meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, in 1969. He also served as a member of the PMI Board of Directors in the Institute's early years. A globally recognized author and authority on project management, Mr. Archibald has been an independent consultant since 1982, serving clients across the United States and in Brazil, Canada, Great Britain, India, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Pakistan, Sweden and The Philippines.
