Denver, Colorado, USA – Tim Bueter was awarded the Project Management Institute (PMI) Distinguished Contribution Award for his dedication to the profession and practice of project management.

The PMI Distinguished Contribution Award recognizes significant achievement for sustained performance by an individual who contributes to the advancement of the project management.

Following his achievement of the PMP® credential in 2003, Bueter was inspired to help other strive for the excellence that the credential represents.  This led him to take on the challenge of coordinating multiple regional PMP® exam preparation workshops, donating his time to recruit volunteers, handle meeting logistics and secure funding.  To date, more than 100 project managers have completed the workshops he managed.

“Tim has been a significant catalyst for the viewpoint that project management is not a role, but rather a profession,” said Brantlee Underhill, CAE, director of practitioner markets for PMI. “His contribution is remarkable and his work was instrumental in orchestrating the PMP® exam prep workshops.”

The PMI Distinguished Contribution Award was presented on 18 October during the PMI Awards Ceremony at PMI® Global Congress 2008 –North America in Denver.
