Linn Stuckenbruck Person of the Year Award

When is the Deadline: All nominations must be submitted via postal mail to the Public Relations Specialist, Public Relations, PMI Global Operations Center via postal mail by 28 April 2008.
Who Should Participate: Candidates must be PMI members in good standing. Currently employed PMI staff members or acts performed under contract to PMI by contractors and/or consultants, directly or indirectly, are not eligible.
Who Can Nominate: Nominators should be from different organizations/employers and be PMI members in good standing, or nonmembers with personal knowledge of the contribution(s). The lead nominator must be a PMI member.

The PMI® Linn Stuckenbruck Person of the Year Award recognizes one PMI member for outstanding contribution(s) to the development and advancement of the project management profession and contribution(s) to the Institute completed in the previous calendar year.

Criteria

• Significant contribution completed during the previous calendar year that brings recognition to the Institute as the world’s leader in project management

• Significant contribution to the profession completed during the previous calendar year that expands and advances project management knowledge, use and applications

• Contribution with broad, far-reaching implications for the profession

Nominations

At least four and not more than six individuals, one of which must be a PMI member and act as the lead nominator, must nominate a person. The lead nominator is responsible for assembling and submitting five copies of the nomination package via postal mail to the PMI.

Each nominator must provide a statement of no more than two pages to include:

  • • Length and capacity (e.g. component member, business associate) of association with the person nominated
  • • Frequency of communication during the recommended period
  • • Description/documentation of contribution(s) or service for which the individual is being nominated
  • • Statement of recommendation for the award

All supporting nominations for the award shall be an original document. Any pages submitted beyond the prescribed limit will not be evaluated.

The Professional Awards Member Advisory Group (MAG) may award lead nominators up to two Professional Development Units (PDUs)  for submitting nominations for a professional award.

PMI will use PMI.org to call for nominations from the membership and will solicit nominations from the PMI elected membership.

Selection Process

The  Public Relations Manager will verify the nomination’s eligibility and distribute the nomination package to the designated panel of reviewers for award evaluation. PMI reserves the right not to select a recipient of the award if the review indicates that nominations do not meet the stated criteria.
