Seattle, Washington, USA – Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading not-for-profit advocacy association for the project management profession, today announced it has awarded the College of Continuing Education, California State University, Sacramento, in partnership with the California Department of Transportation, its 2006 PMI Professional Development Provider of the Year Award in the Academic category.
The award honors new professional development provider organizations that integrate project management knowledge and practices into their day to day activities and track, through the introduction of clearly-defined measurement standards, their individual and organizational performance.
The College of Continuing Education is a PMI Certified Global Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.). It provides customized certificate programs, based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide®) to individual students and organizational clients. The project management certificate programs are separate from the university’s academic programs, and students complete the program in anticipation of working toward earning their Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential.
The PMI Professional Development Provider of the Year Award in the Academic category was presented on 21 October during the Awards Ceremony held in conjunction with PMI Global Congress 2006—North America in Seattle, Washington, USA.
