Seattle, Washington, USA – Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading not-for-profit advocacy association for the project management profession, today announced it has awarded Michel Thiry, MSc, TVM, PMP, the Institute’s most prestigious individual award, the PMI Fellow Award. This award recognizes and honors a PMI member for 10 years or longer who has made sustained and significant contributions to PMI and to the project management profession over the span of more than a decade.

Mr. Thiry is a managing partner at Valense Ltd. Organizational Consultants, and an adjunct professor, ISGI, at ESC Lille in France. He is also a visiting professor at UTS, Sydney, Australia, and Reading University, U.K. Mr. Thiry has served PMI in many ways over the last 14 years. He was local liaison and subject matter expert/product development coordinator for the “Project Management Step-by-Step” CD-ROM. He helped launch and participated in the technical committees of PMI-European Chapters Conferences from 1997 to 2002, served as member of the PMI Board of Directors and as secretary of the PMI Montreal Chapter from 1993 to 1996, and was a member of the board and director of the PMI UK Chapter from 1997 to 2001. Additionally, he is a co-founder and former director of the Canadian Society for Value Analysis and president of the European Governing Board for the Value Management Training and Certification System.

The PMI Fellow Award was presented on 21 October during the Awards Ceremony held in conjunction with PMI Global Congress 2006—North America in Seattle, Washington, USA.
