Seattle, Washington, USA – Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading not-for-profit advocacy association for the project management profession, today announced it has awarded David W. Ross, PMP, the Institute’s 2005 Distinguished Contribution Award. The award recognizes and honors individuals who contribute to the advancement of the project management profession and PMI.
Mr. Ross has over 30 years of experience in executive and project management, information systems, communications, and systems test and evaluation. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a Master of Science degree in engineering management from Northeastern University. Mr. Ross is the manager of operations for Northrop Grumman Mission Systems/XonTech Systems in Dayton, Ohio, USA.
An active PMI member since 1993, Mr. Ross earned the Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential in 1994. He is past president of the PMI Central Ohio Chapter, and a founding member of the PMI Dayton/Miami Valley (Ohio) Chapter. Most recently, he served as the program manager for PMI’s Program and Portfolio Management Standards initiative, which culminated in the publication of two new standards in May 2006. He currently serves as a member of the PMI Standards Member Advisory Group.
