Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, USA — Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading not-for-profit advocacy association for the project management profession, proudly announces that its 2005 “Leadership in Project Management Annual” has been awarded the National Gold Award of Excellence in the category of “Special Supplement, 80,000 or more circulation” from the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASPBE).

This is the second year the PMI Leadership Annual mdash; which is devoted to defining and building the leadership skills essential for project management practitioners and the organizations they work for — has been awarded an ASBPE award. Last year the 2004 PMI “Leadership in Project Management Annual” was awarded the silver ASBPE award in the “Best Special Supplement” category.

The 2005 Leadership Annual spotlights specific areas of interest to practitioners of project management, including challenges, ethics and judgment, and leadership “soft skills” in addition to articles focused on building technical skills and knowledge. The Leadership Annual is distributed in December of each year to all PMI members and component leaders, as well as leading global business executives.

ASBPE is the only professional association in the United States exclusively for full-time and freelance editors and writers employed by business, professional, association and trade magazines, newsletters and digital publications. ASBPE is widely known for its annual Awards of Excellence in editorial and design for magazines, newsletters and digital publications. Awards are given in 40 categories, most on both a national and regional level. The contest is the largest and most competitive of its kind in its market.

Renamed the Azbee’s this year, the 28th Annual National Honors and Azbee Awards of Excellence for 2005 were presented on 20 July in Chicago, Illinois, USA. A complete list of the ASBPE award winners is available at www.asbpe.org.
