Denver, Colorado, USA – Aaron Hall was awarded the Recognition of Excellence as a Volunteer of the Year award by Project Management Institute (PMI) for his outstanding contributions to advancing the field of project management.

The PMI Recognition of Excellence as a Volunteer of the Year award recognizes volunteers for outstanding commitment and leadership in supporting the programs, projects and activities executed by their component.

Aaron serves as the vice president of communications for the PMI Washington DC Chapter. He has supported a variety of volunteer activities during 2007 and made a great contribution to promote the adoption of the best practices in project and program management knowledge sharing.

With improving the member experience at the PMIWDC as his top priority, Aaron implemented and managed a PMIWDC LinkedIn® group, enabling chapter members to network virtually. Additionally, he initiated the PMIWDC “Meet Your Volunteer” program, which spotlights a PMIWDC volunteer each month via the website and newsletter.

“Aaron’s sound commitment to creating a positive experience, knowledge sharing and management have all contributed to the professional development of project management at the PMI Washington DC Chapter,” said Brantlee Underhill, CAE, director of practitioner markets for PMI.

The Recognition of Excellence as a Volunteer of the Year award was presented on 16 October during the PMI Awards Ceremony at PMI® Leadership Institute Meeting in Denver.
