PMI advocates for the project management profession by hosting, sponsoring or participating in a number of business events around the world. For example, PMI sponsored the 2006 McGraw-Hill Construction Summit in China and the 2006 Forbes Global CEO Conference in Singapore.

PMI leaders also speak about project management at conferences such as the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Project Management Challenge Conference, and China Defense and Aerospace Forum.

Business Roundtables

PMI’s series of Business Roundtable discussion events provide opportunities for high-level industry officials to learn more about project management. The events allow PMI to build and strengthen its relationships in key industry sectors, as well.

PMI’s business roundtables currently focus on aerospace and defense, automotive, construction and IT industry segments. A 2006 roundtable in London, England, addressed the aerospace, construction and petrochemical industries and attracted 20 senior executives, while another in China attracted nearly 30 senior executives from the country’s top construction contractors.
