OPM3® Success Story

Since its release in 2003, more than 3,000 organizations are using PMI’s Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3^®) to increase their capabilities. In the first published success story, the Pinellas County, Florida, USA, IT department shows how OPM3 can improve performance and customer satisfaction.

In 2003, the county’s IT department had a reputation for delivering projects late and over budget. As a result various government agencies turned to other service providers. Since implementing the OPM3 standard, the Pinellas County IT department has seen several measurable improvements, including:
