• Authorization to issue automatically accepted Category 3 Professional Development Units (PDUs) for all of your project management relevant courses that are registered in the R.E.P. Database

• Access to R.E.P. Update (monthly e-newsletter), requests for proposals and R.E.P. Online Community website
Additional benefits can be found in the “Benefits of Enrollment” section of the
R.E.P. Program Application.
R.E.P. Criteria
PMI takes the approval of R.E.P.s very seriously and has adopted six criteria areas organizations must comply with to earn and maintain R.E.P. status. In these areas, candidates must:
- • Show organizational maturity and be a legal organization that has offered project management training for at least one year
- • Provide evidence of quality product design, delivery and content
- • Show that course content is consistent with PMI global standards or offers differing or new concepts that are clearly indicated as such in marketing and instructional materials
- • Properly award PDUs for course completion
- • Offer proper R.E.P. marketing representation
New Applicants must review the
R.E.P. Criteria and Primary Responsibilities document and
PMI Intellectual Property Guidelines for REPs before completing the R.E.P. application.
The Application Process
Step One: Submit an
R.E.P. Program Application. (Please see the
instructions for completing this form.) The application is checked for accuracy and completeness by PMI staff.
Step Two: Before the application is assigned to a reviewer, PMI lets you know who potential reviewers might be in case of a conflict of interest.
Step Three: The application, which includes course materials from your organization’s primary course offerings — one course submitted for each delivery method — is sent to the reviewer, who uses a standard set of guidelines to conduct the review.
Step Four: The reviewer provides PMI with a summary report including a standard scoring sheet and a recommendation.
Step Five: PMI considers the reviewer’s recommendations and other information you have submitted and notifies you of the decision. If approved, PMI will send you a certificate of approval and will enter your profile into the searchable database. If you are denied approval, you have 30 days to appeal.
The application process typically takes 30 to 35 days. R.E.P. status is re-evaluated every three years, and random audits may be performed to ensure quality.
