Description:

Numerous studies conclude that a high percentage of projects do not meet their objectives or encounter significant challenges throughout their lifecycle. This course shows participants how to identify and analyze a troubled project, and take corrective action.

During the course, participants learn how to recognize, assess and plan to recover a troubled project. They analyze the project at each stage of the project lifecycle, reviewing the charter, risk analysis, the estimating process, schedules, and the budget. They learn how to determine the state of the project, review alternatives, recommend a go-forward strategy, communicate the strategy to management, and execute the strategy.

This course shows you how to address critical issues such as:

  • Recognizing the signs of a troubled project.
  • Responding to a project with no charter or a poorly written charter.
  • Handling a missing or incomplete risk management plan.
  • Handling underperforming project team members.
  • Dealing with stakeholders' concerns and expectations.
  • Developing and implementing a recovery plan.
