How do you get geographically separated individuals to function as a team? In this course students learn key skills for teambuilding—even if the only interaction you have is on a virtual basis. The tools and techniques for building team identity, culture and trust are different when your team spans the globe. Students will learn how to deal with multiple cultures and create an infrastructure that facilitates that "team feeling."
This course will cover: • Using the alignment model to understand the nature of trust • Using the alignment model and the maturity model to select and assess team members • Techniques for building team identity • Building the infrastructure for fun • The definition and domains of culture • Models for national, organizational and functional culture • Tools for identifying and resolving cultural conflicts
This course will help you: • Build trust and commitment in a virtual team • Have a deeper understanding of virtual culture • Work effectively cross culturally • Assess and align team members • Ensure that team members have fun working on your project
Who should attend? Managers and team members working with virtual teams. The course will be of particular interest to those working with international or cross-cultural teams.
