In response to market demand to distinguish specialized roles on project teams, the Project Management Institute (PMI) now offers a credential for those whose role focuses on project scheduling—PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP).
The credential acknowledges the individual’s advanced and unique expertise on the project team, while demonstrating the recognition and value the role provides to the field of project management. Employers can trust credential holders to possess the skills, knowledge and experience to contribute directly to their crucial projects. This global credential also supports individuals in meeting organizational needs; organizations can be confident in hiring capable, experienced practitioners as well as having a means for a career development path.

With a bachelor's degree or global equivalent have:
30 contact hours of formal education (must be in project scheduling)
Within the past five years, a minimum of 3,500 hours experience in project scheduling
OR
With a high school diploma or global equivalent have:
40 contact hours of formal education (must be in project scheduling)
Within the past five years, a minimum of 5,000 hours of experience in project scheduling |
