Permissions

Important Message

Permission is authorization from PMI to either make copies of PMI copyrighted material or republish part of or an entire work of PMI copyrighted material. If you would like to use any portion of PMI copyrighted material - in either print or electronic media - you must first obtain written permission and pay the appropriate permission fee, where applicable.

  1. PMI Chapters are already granted permissions for certain uses as outlined in the PMI Chapter Manual. All other requests must go through the PMI Permissions online request form.
  2. Registered Education Providers (R.E.P.s) are granted permissions for certain uses as outlined in the R.E.P. Application and Agreement. All other requests will need to be fulfilled either through the PMI Permissions online request form (PMI standards) or the RightsLink service (when available on the product page). For more information, click here.
  3. For "republication" of the PMBOK®Guide and other PMI standards, fill out the PMI Permissions online request form.
  4. Photocopies and requests for republication of PM Network®, Project Management Journal® (prior to 2008), PMI proceedings and other PMI books are handled through the RightsLink service. To apply for Permission using the RightsLink service, you will need to visit the product page on the PMI Store and click on the “Reprints and Permissions” button. For more information, click here. If the item you are seeking to use does not contain a RightsLink button, fill out the PMI Permissions online request form.
  5. Glossy reprints of original PM Network and Project Management Journal articles are available through our Publications Department. To make a request, please e-mail pmipub@pmi.org.
  6. PMI authors wanting to reuse material from their work are required to get permission first. Permission will not be unreasonably withheld and no fee is required. Click the “Reprints and Permissions” button on the product page to use the RightsLink service, or if the item you are seeking to use does not contain a RightsLink button, fill out the PMI Permissions online request form.
  7. To link to PMI's web site using the PMI logo, please submit PMI's Link Agreement Form. No other requests to use the PMI logo will be granted.
  8. For other PMI Permissions questions, please read PMI's FAQ section.

Note: Submission of the permissions form is not an implied grant of use of the requested materials. Please be aware that due to a high-volume of requests, it may take between one (1) to five (5) weeks to complete the permissions process. Requests are handled in the order they are submitted, so it may take some time to respond to your request. Please indicate any pending deadlines in the form.
