Building Better Futures Campaign Funds Program Growth, New Initiatives, and Global Expansion of PMIEF

In June 2006, the PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF), a charitable nonprofit organization, took the first step in a major expansion of its programs to:

  • Help college students realize their dreams through academic scholarships, internships, doctoral research grants, and visiting professorships;
  • Prepare youth for success in life through project centered learning for primary and secondary school students and project management skills for teachers; and
  • Help relief, nonprofit and non-governmental organizations use their limited resources more efficiently and effectively through project management grants, training scholarships, and workshops.

To financially support this expansion, PMIEF implemented a fundraising campaign called Building Better Futures, which raised more than US$8,000,000 — including US$4,651,063 in gifts and pledges as well as US$3,409,480 in promised in-kind gifts of scholarships and training. The Project Management Institute and lead donor, the International Institute of Learning, donated a total of US$3,140,000 in cash and pledges.

To see a sampling of how these donations, combined with that of PMI Components, Registered Education Providers, and Chapter Members, have helped make a difference all around the world, please click on this map.

PMIEF thanks all those who donated!  Your generosity has been critical in helping PMIEF grow.  However, there is much more work to be done, requiring additional funds each and every year.  If you want to help, please make a donation on our secure online giving page or email pmief@pmi.org to tell us how you can help.
