The Philadelphia School Project pilot, “Spring Garden Alive”, started in the summer of 2008 and continues at two inner city schools. This initiative is a partnership involving PMIEF, DeVry University, The School District of Philadelphia, and the PMI Delaware Valley Chapter, who supported their volunteer mentors. Students attended a project management class, which included 21st Century Skills. They received college credit for their participation in the class. Their assignment was to construct a business plan to develop a useful application for a vacant lot in the city.
