Learn to Lead: The PMI Leadership Institute

To get ahead you’ve got to know how to lead. But that doesn’t always come naturally. Sometimes you need a little training and education.

That’s where PMI can help. Through the Leadership Institute, PMI offers something most organizations don’t: training and education that can deliver a clear ROI for the organization’s volunteers.

Curriculum for PMI’s Leadership Institute is centered on three main areas:

·    Associations Governance: Issues pertaining to running a not-for-profit organization, such as bylaws, the creation of chapters, and rules and procedures of operating an association.

·    PMI Institutional Knowledge: Information regarding developments, products and practices coming from PMI.

·    Individual Leadership Development: Leadership topics anyone might benefit from in an organization, a corporation or in a personal way.

How Do I Access PMI's Leadership Institute?

To take advantage of PMI’s Leadership Institute, you must be a active PMI Volunteer leader and a PMI member in good standing. Find out more.

Leadership Institute meetings are held prior to each global congress but the training and education occur throughout the year via the program’s online component, PMI Learn.

Participants have their choice of online courses, instructor-led classes, documents and seminars that complement the Leadership Institute curriculum.

That knowledge can not only help be better leaders in the corporate world—but also within their chapters.

PMI’s Leadership Institute Master Class

Each year, a select group of PMI volunteers are invited to take their leadership skills to the next level and join the PMI Leadership Institute Master Class.

This intensive, yearlong global leadership development program is made up of several elements, including workshops and seminars, coaching and mentoring sessions and leadership forums.

The program includes three face-to-face multi-day seminars and leverages virtual technologies to continue learning between the face to face meetings.

And although the program is a lot of work, many LIMC graduates view it as a major growth experience.
