PMIEF Participates in Boeing Webinar

October 28, 2010

One of PMIEF's goals is to provide educational resources that you can use for outreach to your local community for social good.  So when PMIEF staff was invited to participate in a webinar to the Boeing Project Management Interest Group (PMIG), we jumped at the chance.  We used this opportunity to provide an overview on PMIEF's three areas of focus and provided real life examples of how PMIEF educational resources are being used around the world to educate youth, nonprofit/non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and teachers.

When participants were asked if they were volunteering in their local communities, the response of YES was overwhelming, and many followed up with examples of how they are using their project management skills in their volunteer efforts.  Participants were encouraged to download PMIEF educational resources to use when volunteering and to bring these resources to their children's schools or favorite nonprofit/NGOs or religious organizations.

PMIG organizers, Scott Sears and Christine Baker, stated "they had a very positive response to the webinar" and were happy to be able to provide ways in which their members may use their profession and skills to give back to their communities.  If you know a group who should hear the PMIEF message and you can help to make the introduction, we would be happy to make the presentation. If interested, please email pmief@pmi.org for more information or to request a presentation.
