Advancing the ProfessionThe PMI® Research Program, formed in 1997, works to advance the science and profession of project management — an essential part of PMI’s mission to make project management indispensable for business results. What’s more, advanced processes, best practices and academic insights translate to better on-the-job performance for you and your teams.

Program Mission

The PMI Research Program is the catalyst for the expansion of the project management body of knowledge. The PMI Research Department shares knowledge with the project management community to enable more effective project execution and achievement of business success.

Program Responsibilities

Create Knowledge: Achieved through PMI-sponsored research projects, market surveys and symposiums.
Dispense Knowledge: Achieved through publications, research conferences and working sessions.
