Research Funding
Each year PMI invests close to US $50,000 in up to six research projects. In 2009, in its request for sponsored research proposals, PMI specified that proposed research should have direct application to some aspect of the project management body of knowledge or its practice.
This year, PMI also encouraged proposals for research involving multi-disciplinary teams of scholars or teams consisting of academics and practitioners, who can potentially bring new ways of thinking and related bodies of literature to the field.
Research projects selected for funding are later published as research monographs. PMI makes digital copies of these monographs available to its members free of charge.
PMI will announce the recipients of its 2009 research grants in November 2009.
PMI Request for 2009 Research Proposals is now closed. The 2010 call for research proposals will open on 1 April.
