Research Funding
Each year PMI invests close to US $50,000 in up to eight research projects. In its 2009 request for sponsored research proposals, PMI specified that proposed research should have direct application to some aspect of the project management body of knowledge or its practice.
PMI has also encouraged proposals for research involving multi-disciplinary teams of scholars or teams consisting of academics and practitioners, who can potentially bring new ways of thinking and related bodies of literature to the field.
Research projects selected for funding are later published as research monographs. PMI makes digital copies of these monographs available to its members free of charge. View the list of published research monographs. All of these monographs are also available for sale in the Marketplace.
PMI will announce the recipients of its 2009 research grants in January 2010.
The 2010 Call for Sponsored Research Proposals will open on 1 February 2010.
