Get the R.E.P. advantage when you choose a project management training provider.
|
If you select a PMI® Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.), you can feel confident that you have chosen an organization that is well qualified to provide the instruction you need. Each organization that earns the R.E.P. designation has passed a rigorous, criteria-based review conducted by a global panel of volunteers who are experts in education and training. To maintain the designation, the R.E.P. must pass this review every three years. “R.E.P.s are reviewed and have agreed to fulfill certain criteria, and to behave in an ethical manner. We know them, and they are committed to excellence,” said Mike Price, PhD, R.A., PMI manager of accreditation. PMI R.E.P.s are entitled to display a red and blue insignia that denotes their status. You can look for this insignia when you shop for a training provider. Or, you can use PMI’s website to locate an R.E.P. that meets your specific needs. Many different types of organizations attain R.E.P. status. These include commercial training companies, colleges and universities, corporations, government agencies and PMI communities — chapters, specific interest groups and colleges. Attention credential holders and credential exam candidates … R.E.P.s offer you an extra advantage. Specific courses that R.E.P.s register with PMI are pre-approved for contact hours and are automatically accepted for PDUs. So if you are a credential holder, or if you are a credential candidate that is audited, you would be free of the need to submit information on the qualifications of the registered course or instructor. PMI R.E.P.s can come to your organization. Do you have a team of people who need training? Would it help your organization to have a PMI R.E.P. come to you? You can request that an R.E.P conduct a pre-existing course for a team or group at your location. You can also request training that addresses your organization’s specific instructional needs. At no charge, PMI will post to the R.E.P. community your request for proposal. Interested training providers will view your RFP and respond directly to your company. Simply e-mail your RFP to rep@pmi.org. Of course PMI can’t guarantee the success of every R.E.P. activity – but as a project practitioner, you know it is important to receive quality training and to limit risk! Accomplish both when you train through a PMI R.E.P. Find out more on PMI.org under the professional and career development section. |
