PMI to Bestow its 2009 Awards on 10 October

On 10 October, PMI will announce its 2009 Awards, recognizing those teams and individuals who have advanced their communities and organizations through project management. The Awards Ceremony will take place at the PMI Global Congress 2009—North America in Orlando, Florida, USA. It will feature PMI Professional, Component and Educational Foundation awards, and will culminate with the announcement of the coveted PMI Project of the Year Award. The ceremony will also profile the three 2009 Project of the Year finalists who were announced by PMI in a news release on 31 August.

New features this year include:
  • Multiple performances by the energetic Cirque Odyssey—a fast-paced, musical celebration of strength, agility, grace and skill
  • Banquet-style seating with drinks and hors d'oeuvres
  • Gifts commemorating PMI’s 40th anniversary for ceremony attendees

Come and honor the best in project management while networking, enjoying food, drink and live entertainment, and receiving a memorable anniversary gift available only to ceremony attendees.

There is no fee for attending the ceremony. Simply RSVP to reserve your seats. Don’t forget to include your name. Please put “Awards Ceremony” in the subject of the email.

New System Streamlines PMI Credential Maintenance

PMI has introduced the new Continuing Certification Requirements System (CCRS) to help credential holders and education providers manage professional development activities. The CCR System manages all the functionality of the previous system, plus introduces new efficiencies.

These improvements ensure that PMI keeps pace with the needs of the growing number of credential holders and education providers—both R.E.P.s and PMI communities.

Credential holders will find it simpler and more efficient to:

  • Select activities (courses/events)
  • Report PDUs
  • View transcripts
  • Maintain multiple credentials

Education providers will have new and improved online abilities to:

  • Add and edit activities (courses/events)
  • Register activities for PDU eligibility
  • Change activity dates and descriptions

The new CCR System provides a straightforward user interface as the entry point for credential holders and education providers. Locating and entering information is intuitive, and transactions are easier to accomplish.

Also, the new CCR System is incorporated into PMI’s single sign-on technology, enabling system users to log in only once to gain access to all PMI systems. This saves you time and the inconvenience of responding to additional prompts and entering additional passwords.

For more information and to access the new system, visit the new CCR System.
