PMI Educational Foundation Funds Grants

The PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF) funds grant requests for programs that align with its vision and mission:

  • Helping students obtain their dream through education;
  • Helping children prepare for success in life; and
  • A better prepared response in times of need.

The Foundation recently funded five grants.

  • The Impact grant funded project management training for high school girls in Ghana.
  • The Make It Happen grant is funding workforce development in Maine, USA. This organization is providing project management training for people who are out of work, and part of that training prepares them to take the CAPM® exam.
  • The West Chester University (Pennsylvania, USA) grant is funding the development of a project management class that is contextualized for primary and secondary school teachers. This also includes a teacher focus group that will evaluate and refine the course content.
  • The Millersville University (Pennsylvania, USA) grant is funding the development of a project management class for non-profit organizations.
  • The South Medford High School (Oregon, USA) grant is funding the development of an integrated project management curriculum to be delivered via a project learning methodology. The class will include four subjects, English, history, geometry and biology. The students will be presented with the problem that a pandemic has hit the city and they need to develop a project plan to mitigate the danger.

All of the materials that will be developed through these grants will be available on the PMIEF website and can be downloaded at no charge.

Call for 2010 PMI Professional Awards Nominations is now open…

Help Us Further the Profession and Recognize Excellence

Each year PMI honors those who do an outstanding job of advancing project management’s knowledge and practice. The PMI Professional Awards are presented to those who manage successful, innovative projects, conduct research, publish excellent books, create outstanding training products and programs, and help their communities prosper through the use of project management.

Each of these awards requires someone like you to nominate the person, project, organization, product or book. The PMI community cannot say thank you for excellence without your help.

PMI needs you to let us know who may deserve a 2010 PMI Professional Award. If you believe that excellence, innovation and hard work should be rewarded, please nominate or apply for these prestigious honors.

The nomination deadline for many PMI Professional Awards is 26 April 2010. The nominations for the PMI’s most-coveted Project of the Year Award are due before 1 March 2010. Nominations for the 2010 PMI Eric Jenett Project Management Excellence Award and PMI Distinguished Project Awards are accepted throughout the year.
