Additional Tips for Using the New Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) System

The new CCR System is in full operation and has received recent upgrades.

As a reminder, PMI is asking that R.E.P. representatives create their own unique username and password on PMI.org if they have not done so already so they may access the newly enhanced CCR system (formerly the R.E.P. Administrative Update Site).

When you register (by clicking on the Become a Provider Representative link in the green column on the left-hand side), you will be prompted initially to give your training organizations R.E.P. ID and password to enter the system so it is linked to PMI.org. You will only need to do this once.

http://sparky.occe.ou.edu/pmi/REPlogin.cfm can no longer be used to register activities.

The new CCR system on PMI.org is at the following link: https://www.pmi.org/ccrs/.

R.E.P.s have online abilities to do the following:

Create and register a new Provider Activity/Course Description Form

Request a PMP credential holder sign-off

View a transcript of all of your R.E.P. organization's registered courses

Post a course advertisement on the Provider Listing page

Retire a course

Submit batch PDU claims

Please note the following enhancements made with the CCRS for R.E.P.s:

1. Are R.E.P.s able to register past activities for PDU claims by participants?

Yes. While R.E.P.s are expected to register activities prior to their events occurring, they are now able to once again register past activities on the online system.

2. Do R.E.P.s have the ability to save data if they begin entering information and they dont complete an activity/course registration?

Yes. The CCR system now allows R.E.P.s the functionality to save data that can be accessed at a later time to complete their activity/course registrations.

The http://rep.pmi.bluestep.net/ link is for the R.E.P. Community Site only. This remains unaffected by the new CCR system.

An FAQs document and new system screenshots with CCRS User Guide are posted on the R.E.P. Community Site for additional assistance.

The R.E.P. Program Celebrates 10th Anniversary: Share and Read About Success Stories

2009 marks the tenth anniversary of the R.E.P. Program. To celebrate this milestone, PMI invites you to share your success stories.

Please send your stories that cover one or some of the areas below to rep@pmi.org:

Why did you become a PMI R.E.P.?

What has the R.E.P. designation meant to your training organization over the past 10 years?

What innovative techniques or strategies have you implemented in your project management training since gaining R.E.P. status?

What do you generally deem to be best practices in teaching project management?

Perot Systems, an R.E.P. from the United States, expressed some of the following comments:

At Perot Systems we believe project management is the key factor in the successful delivery of services to our clients. Perot Systems is committed to building and implementing strong project management practices and in developing our people to perform as successful project managers. In addition to encouraging associates to pursue a PMP certification, Perot Systems has established its own certification program for project managers. Each project is graded based on several complexity factors and project managers who have achieved the appropriate level of certification are assigned to projects which match their competency level. Project management certification starts with Beginners then moves on to Performers then Masters and finally to Mentors.

For eight of the ten years as part of the R.E.P. program, Perot Systems offered only classroom courses.

In 2008, we began to phase out the classroom only courses and, keeping with the industry trend, we began introducing a series of virtual classroom courses augmented by computer-based learning modules used mainly for beginners, pre-work and tool instructions. We also expanded our testing capabilities. These changes have ensured our increasingly global population has cost effective access to our entire project management curriculum and that our subject matter expert (SME) resources are available around the world, around the clock. This change in delivery methods has been an aggressive project but we are very pleased with the result which is cost effective without compromising the quality of training.

It has been a great experience to participate in PMIs R.E.P. program. It has been a driving force in ensuring that our Project Management curriculum has met and exceeded the industry standards.
