PMI Professional Awards Program – Global Volunteer Evaluator

Summary:

The purpose of the PMI Professional Awards Program is to recognize, honor, and publicize project management excellence.  Submissions to the program are evaluated by designated panels of volunteer evaluators who are project management experts with geographic and/or industry specific diversity. Volunteer evaluators must be able to read, speak and write English fluently in order to evaluate and rate the award submissions.

Each calendar year, volunteer evaluators must complete the online PMI Volunteer Application, sign and return an original PMI Confidentiality and Records Compliance Agreement and the PMI Conflict of Interest Questionnaire, and submit a copy of your current resume with a summary of any professional as well as PMI volunteer experience.

Volunteer evaluators must commit to a minimum of 10 to 30 hours in order to properly evaluate the submissions.  The average time commitment is 15 hours; depending on the award you have been assigned and how many submissions have been received. To review the award descriptions please visit PMI.org/About Us/Professional Awards

Deliverable(s)

As a volunteer evaluator of award submissions submitted to the PMI Professional Awards Program, you are charged with independently evaluating the eligibility and content of the submission against the criteria outlined in the confidential evaluator guidelines, and recording the results on the rating sheets that will be provided with the submission package.  Complete award evaluation rating sheets provided by the Awards Administrator and must be returned by mail service to the Global Operations Center by the date specified on the submission package.  Faxed or scanned copies cannot be accepted for this assignment.

  • The evaluation process and scores are proprietary to PMI and will not be disclosed to either nominator’s or nominees.  A formal announcement and presentation of awards will occur at a specified PMI event.

The PMI Confidentiality and Records Compliance Agreement and the PMI Conflict of Interest Questionnaire must be completed for each volunteer assignment each calendar year with the original, signed documents mailed to the PMI Global Operations Center (GOC) Awards Administrator. Volunteers who have completed the awards submission evaluation process may receive PDUs under Category “E” of the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) Program.

If you meet the requirements of a volunteer position outlined below, please email Volunteer@pmi.org and awards@pmi.org with your intentions, and verify that you meet the experience requested under Requirements.  Include your current resume and a document summarizing any professional as well as PMI volunteer experience.
