Chapters

After becoming a PMI member, you may join a local chapter, which can connect you with a local network of professional expertise. You also will receive support and opportunities to meet with peers from various industries through meetings, activities and educational programs. There are currently more than 250 chapters in more than 70 countries worldwide.

Specific Interest Groups (SIGs)

SIGs help members with common interests and industries to come together and share ideas, challenges and concerns across geographical boundaries.

Through networking, developing technical papers, teleconferences and collaborative work on special projects, members have a unique opportunity to learn and grow. SIGs also hold at least one annual meeting, often in conjunction with one of PMI’s global congresses.

Colleges

If you are a member of PMI with a passion for one of the project management knowledge areas, or if you have a specific expertise, you may fit perfectly into one of PMI’s colleges.

Like a SIG, a PMI college has no distinct geographical location. Instead, it brings together individuals who have developed a formal approach to one of the areas within A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK^® Guide). These individuals are committed to furthering this knowledge and making it available to the profession.
