Language Aids Assist Exam Takers

If you have a colleague or project team member who is pursuing the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) or Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential, be sure he or she knows that language aids are available for assistance. Language aids translate exam questions and multiple-choice options to assist candidates for whom English is a second language.

Language aids for the CAPM and PMP exams are available in 10 languages:

  • Chinese (Simplified)
  • French
  • German
  • Hebrew
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Portuguese (Brazilian)
  • Russian
  • Spanish

The aids are provided when the credential exam is administered and are protected under the PMI® Test Security and Confidentiality Policy.

Candidates who would like a language aid should indicate this need during the exam scheduling process. If a candidate has already scheduled an exam without specifying a language aid—and would like to include one—he or she must reschedule the exam in accordance with the Examination Cancellation/Rescheduling/No-shows Policy outlined in the CAPM and PMP handbooks. If candidates do not reschedule in accordance with the policy, they risk forfeiting the exam fee and accruing a re-examination fee in order to sit for the exam.

Candidates who use paper forms to apply for a credential should indicate their need for a language aid as part of the application process.

Once the examination is scheduled, candidates should review their exam scheduling confirmation to verify that their request for a language aid has been processed.

Anyone who needs assistance requesting or confirming a request for a language aid should contact the PMI Customer Care team at customercare@pmi.org or by phone at +1-610-356-4600, option 8.
