In October, almost 100 people achieved the PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)SM credential after they met certain education and experience requirements and passed the multiple-choice credential exam.
The PMI-SP credential, which debuted last March, recognizes knowledge and expertise in the specialized area of developing and maintaining the project schedule and acknowledges the unique role of scheduling professionals on project teams.
“In almost all my professional roles, I noticed the importance
of time/schedule management for successful completion of all my projects—as
time lost is never gained back,” said Ondiappan Arivazhagan B.E.
(Honors), PMI-SP, PMP, CSSBB, CEO of a project management training firm
in Chennai, India. His professional roles ranged from software development
to
e-commerce and entertainment.
Another new credential holder, Jay Gassaway, PMI-SP, PMP, of West Deptford, New Jersey, USA, retired from the electric utility industry after 35 years where he gained decades of project scheduling experience. He pursued the credential to gain credibility in his current teaching role.
