| Credential Holders Tell Why They Maintained Their Credential
PMP Passport asked and readers responded on why they maintained their Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential. Here is what they said.
In principle, it's very important to learn [all your life] because there are many new challenges every day. Only by regularly [reviewing project management] standards and philosophies is it possible to hold the high level of project management quality. In addition, with credential renewal, we are the ones who bring in the reality of projects to help analyse the standards [and maybe advance them]."
—Sabine Schreiner, PMP, advertising space manager, Deutsche Telekom AG, Zentrum Mehrwertdienste, Nuremberg, Germany
"There are two main reasons why I renewed and maintained my credential. The first is to show respect to my certificate that was obtained based on experience and hard work. The second reason is to show professionalism in the workplace which adds value to my work as senior project manager. Having [to obtain] the amount of PDUs over three years shows that I have been involved in project management work and [that I know] what is going on in project management."
—Sakher Alkhreisha, PMP, senior project manager, ASG Group, Sydney, Australia
