Maintaining Your Credential
Gain More Value From Your PDUs With Career Framework

PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential is often a conduit to professional advancement. Now, credential holders can use the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program and credential maintenance to gain advantages that go beyond earning Professional Development Units (PDUs).

PMI’s career framework, with its career path tool, helps users plot their career trajectory against a researched job progression and identify gaps in their professional skill set. The online tool provides a career ladder with job descriptions for each level, broken into professional, interpersonal and leadership competencies. Each competency is benchmarked to reflect the proficiency level needed for every job.

Credential holders are granted free access to this tool as a benefit of certification. Use the tool to determine areas of weakness, then find professional development opportunities that enhance these skills while earning PDUs toward credential maintenance. PMI events such as global congresses or SeminarsWorld® provide a variety of classes that address many project management competencies.

Credential holders also benefit if their company has signed up on PMI’s career framework as an organizational partner. As a partner, companies can edit job descriptions to reflect their organizational structure, giving employees a more complete understanding of job requirements.

Access PMI’s career framework today by visiting the Career Development page of the new PMI.org website.
