Project Management Training Fellowships for Primary and Secondary School Educators

In support of its program for Building a Better Prepared Society for Future Success, the PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF) has established a project management training fellowship program to assist employed primary and secondary school teachers and administrators in learning the fundamentals of project management.  The PMIEF is pleased that you are interested in receiving project management training. The learning from this training will enable you to utilize project management skills in enhancing your effectiveness and efficiency in the execution of your professional, educational, volunteer, and personal life.  In addition, this training will better equip you to utilize projects in your schools and/or classrooms as a means of enhancing the education of students learning 21st century skills.

The currently available training fellowships are provided through a donation to the PMI Educational Foundation from Cadence Management Corporation There is no cost to educators for the training course and accompanying training materials, including catered lunch and snacks each seminar day.  Any issues and expenses related to time away from work to participate in this complimentary training, and any travel expenses needed to attend the training, are the responsibility of the educator and/or the educator’s employer.  For more information, click on Project Management Essentials below.

Why Should I Take This Course?
The body of research supporting project-based learning initiatives in K-12 education is exploding. The results agree: students learning through projects show meaningful increases in communication, peer collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, and overall engagement in learning activities. The power of an early education in project management can build an unparalleled confidence in students’ ability to learn, to work together, and to contribute to something greater than themselves throughout their education, careers, and lives. This course will give educators the skills they need to use project management tools and help them to implement a project-based learning culture in the classroom.

The course is focused on what you need today, to get your projects started now, to have a sense of control and confidence. Learn pragmatic techniques to complete more projects on-time and on-budget.  Understand how to overcome the obstacles to project success. Learn techniques and procedures for effective communications to proactively identify issues, set expectations and to implement project changes.

Course Overview:
The Cadence approach is to keep it practical and simple. Participants are actively involved in class through workshops, exercises and group discussions. Immediately apply the tools and techniques to your real projects. Participate in team building workshops using proven tools and techniques that can be directly applied to K-12 curricula. The Cadence Methodology is easily transposed to the classroom environment, giving educators the coursework they need to integrate project management in their schools.
