PMIEF Announces 2009 Grant Recipients

The PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF) funds grant requests for programs that align with its vision and mission:
- Helping students realize their dreams through education
- Helping children prepare for success in life
- Preparing a better response to tragedy
In 2009, PMIEF funded the following grants:
Impact: to fund project management training for high school girls in Ghana.
Work it UP: to fund workforce development in Maine. They are providing project management training for people who are out of work and preparing then to take the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) exam.
West Chester University (3 E Institute): to fund the development of a project management class that is contextualized for primary and secondary school teachers.
Millersville University: to fund the development of a project management class for non-profit organizations.
South Medford High School: to fund the development of an integrated project management curriculum to be delivered via a project learning methodology. The class will include four subjects: English, history, geometry and biology. The students will be presented with the problem that a pandemic has hit the city and they need to develop a project plan to mitigate the danger.
Eastern Michigan University Foundation: to fund the continuation of their Project Lead the Way Program, which teaches science and math to primary and secondary school students through projects.
Federal University of Technology: to fund accreditation costs for the PMI Global Accreditation Center for undergraduate and graduate degree programs for this university in Nigeria.
