About Ray Piper
Ray Piper was an acknowledged expert in project management, a caring colleague, and an enthusiastic mentor for those who wished to learn. As most people know, Ray passed away suddenly in the UK in October 2008.
Ray was very involved in various organizations such as the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACEI), Rice Global Engineering and Construction Forum, Greater New Orleans Business Roundtable, University of St. Thomas, Houston Business Roundtable, University of Houston, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers, to name a few.
One of Ray’s greatest passions was training and education so that he could help young people become more empowered with knowledge and better shielded by lessons learned. Ray was outstanding in his teaching skills and in his generosity with information for his many students and protégés.
Sponsored by the PMI Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Specific Interest Group, the PMI Clear Lake/Galveston Chapter, and other friends of Ray Piper
