Edrin
Rouse. I received my BS degree in Industrial Technology from North
Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. While working
for General Motors Corporation in Saginaw, Michigan, I received my MS
degree in Quality Systems from Eastern Michigan University. Currently,
I’m pursuing my PhD in Management of Engineering and Technology from Northcentral University in Prescott, Arizona.
I have over 13 years of professional experience in various service
and manufacturing companies-- specifically working in various roles
in the areas of quality engineering and management, operations consulting/auditing,
process engineering, new product development, human resources, and Six
Sigma as a Black Belt. A few of the companies I’ve had the privilege
to work for in these capacities include: Philip Morris USA; General
Motors Corporation; GE Capital; Carolina Power and Light Company (now
Progress Energy); AMP, Inc.(now Tyco Electronics); and most recently,
Bank of America.
Currently, I work for Bank of America as a Sr. Process Design Consultant,
which includes responsibility for leading process and quality improvements
within the training design group for the Banking Center and Small Business
division. Before this role, I also led transition/merger-related process
engineering activities within the Technology and Operations group. Primarily,
I work closely with business executives, change managers, deployment
champions, subject matter experts, and Master Black Belts to effectively
coach and implement Six Sigma and change management activities that
will achieve breakthrough productivity and customer satisfaction. I
am also responsible for mentoring and coaching Green Belt candidates
and other team members involved in process and quality improvement activities.
Over the years, I have also acquired various professional certifications
to keep my knowledge base at the forefront. I received my Certified
Quality Manager and Certified Quality Engineer designations from the
American Society for Quality, and I received my Certified Six Sigma
Black Belt designation from GE Capital. I also received the designation
as a Sr. Certified Industrial Technologist (CSIT) from the National
Association of Industrial Technology. Overall, these certifications
have afforded me the opportunity to focus on life-long learning opportunities
in the quality field, as well as in other areas.
