Hello,
my name is Ara Mazmanian. I’m
23 years of age and I have been chosen to receive the PMI Founders Award.
I became aware of the industry of architecture during 10th grade
in highschool. I enrolled in a drafting class, because I heard it was
fairly interesting, and fortunately the teacher made every class incredibly
interesting. Ever since then I have been drawn to architecture and all
aspects of construction.
Originally from Niagara Falls, Ontario, I left my home to study architecture
at Ryerson University in Toronto. After my first 2 years I felt project
management was my calling. I enjoyed the practicality and hands-on aspect
that only project management could provide. Whereas I felt that the
design aspect was a bit too subjective. Currently I’m managing a small
project for the company I work for and enjoy every minute. I’m using
the knowledge I gained at Ryerson and applying it to a real life project.
I’m very grateful and honoured that I have been chosen to receive
this award.
Thank you. Regards,
Ara Mazmanian
