The Gaylord E. (Gary) Christle Scholarship

Criteria

In honor of the distinguished government service career of a founding member of the Performance Management Association, now known as the PMI College of Performance Management, to support scholarly studies and scientific advancement in the fields of acquisition, program and project management.

A scholarship was first awarded during the academic year 2001-2002. The Gaylord E. Christle Scholarship is open to any student enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a bachelors, masters, or doctoral degree in acquisition management and/or project management.

The scholarship will be awarded between September and May in the amount of US$3,000.

The PMI Educational Foundation, through the PMI College of Performance Management's generous donation, is proud to present the 2005 Gaylord E. (Gary) Christle Scholarship (US$2,000 Stipend) to:

Mr. John A. Estrella, PMP, is the President of Agilitek Corporation, an IT project management consulting company that specializes in methodology, strategy, and technology.  Over the last sixteen years, Mr. Estrella worked on various consulting engagements for some of the world’s most respected organizations in Asia, North America, and Europe such as Allstate, BMO Financial Group, R-M Trust (CIBC Mellon), SunTrust, Dell, General Motors, Honda, Sikorsky Aircraft (United Technologies), USAir, Delta, Continental, Learning Tree International, and San Miguel Corporation just to name a few.  He is the author of technology and management courses that are offered in Canada, U.S., U.K., France, Sweden, and Japan.  He speaks professionally on project management topics.  Mr. Estrella holds industry certifications from PMI, Microsoft, and Sun.  He earned his Master of Science degree in Computer Science with a perfect 4.0 GPA while on a teaching fellowship and scholarship at the University of Detroit.  Mr. Estrella is currently working on his Ph.D. in Organization and Management.  On the personal side, he is a husband, father, Scout leader, martial artist, marathon runner, triathlete, and an avid outdoor person.
