About Robert J. Yourzak
A member of PMI since 1982, and a certified Project
Management Professional (PMP®) since 1984, Robert J. "Bob"
Yourzak was recognized as a 1995 PMI Fellow for his sustained leadership,
advocacy, counsel, and service at the chapter, national, and international
levels of PMI. His numerous committee activities have influenced the
direction and success of PMI.
At the national and international level, Mr. Yourzak
has served as:
- 1987-88 PMI VP Public Relations
- 1989 Ex-Officio VP Public Relations
- 1990 PMI President
- 1991 PMI Chairman of the Board
- 1992 Ex-Officio Chairman
- 1987-1992 PMI Director
In addition, he served as Chairperson for the following
PMI committees: 1986 Marketing, 1991 Inter Society Liaison, 1992 Strategic
Planning, 1992 Nominating, and 1996-97 Executive Director Selection.
He has also presented in over 100 seminars, workshops and chapter
presentations. He has led 16 separate PMI projects.
Mr. Yourzak has been instrumental in originating Board
approved proposals to create the PMI Research Committee, PMI Project
of the Year Award, chapter marketing how-to kit, convention display
booth, and image advertising programs. He voted on many worthwhile
PMI Board proposals from 1987-92, including the establishment of the
PMI Educational Foundation.
For the PMI Minnesota Chapter, Mr. Yourzak served
as a Founding Member, as the first elected President, as Chairman
of the Advisory and Program Committees, as Education Certification
Director, as PMP Certification Quality Workshop leader, and as program
speaker.
His other voluntary activities include serving as
the President of the IIE Twin Cities Chapter and ASCE Minnesota Section.
He has been honored with listings in a variety of Who’s Who
publications including Finance and Industry, Science
and Engineering, American Education, Who’s Who in
America and Who’s Who in the World.
