Southwest Ohio Chapter Scholarship
Background
The
Southwest Ohio Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI®), (SWOPMI)
aims to promote project management professionalism and serve the
professional, education and networking needs of Southwest Ohio,
Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana.
In this
direction, to foster student interest in project management, the
chapter proposes to sponsor an annual scholarship award of one
thousand dollars ($1,000) for one student meeting all the following
eligibility criteria.
The
award will be administered by PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF) and
funding for the award will be provided by the Southwest Ohio
chapter. The PMIEF fee for administration will be included along
with the annual contribution.
Application Deadline is 30 June 2008
Qualification
All
applicants should meet all the following eligibility requirements.
They
must:
- Be
accepted to or attending an undergraduate or graduate degree
program at an accredited college or university in the Tri-state
(Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky) area in any field related to project
management.

Demonstrate an interest in project management and submit a cover
letter on why they are interested.
Selection Criteria
Annually, one winner will be selected based on the following:

Relation of college program and career goals with project
management (as evidenced in the cover letter.)

Academic performance and extra-curricular activities
-
Completeness and neatness of application.
Terms and Conditions
The
following general conditions apply:

Applicants must not be the children and/or immediate relatives of
current SWOPMI Board members, board members of PMI and/or its
employees.

All decisions of the PMI Educational Foundation (administrator of
the scholarship) and the SWOPMI chapter are final.

Application deadline is 30 June 2008; award recipient(s) will be notified in August. The scholarships will be awarded in September.

Scholarships will be awarded without regard to race, color,
religion, gender, national origin, age, financial need or state of
physical handicap.

My name is Lindsay Saurber and
I am a senior at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. My hometown
is Fairfield, OH. My parents are Gerry and Paula Saurber and I have
two younger siblings, Andrew and Emily. I am a management and
entrepreneurial studies double major. I have a cumulative GPA of
3.93 and have been a Dean's list student every semester thus far. I
am a member of the Jesuit honor society Alpha Sigma Nu and also a
member of the business honor society Beta Gamma Sigma. I currently
intern for a cardiology practice in northern Kentucky, and I'm also
the head coach of Badin High School's gymnastics team in Hamilton,
OH. I also participate in a faith sharing community on campus
called Koinonia.
