Course Introduction:

The Cheetah PM Fundamentals Online Certificate Program is designed for people interested in learning about or entering the field of Project Management. When you complete the five-course program, you have the knowledge, skills, and attitude to lead projects and excel in Project Management. You also prepare to take – and pass – PMI's Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) certification exam, which helps you develop enhanced career opportunities.

Project Management is one of the top in-demand careers, even in very tough economic times. With the PM Fundamentals course, you develop both the confidence and the credentials for better career prospects. You are given all the tools to prepare for the exam, including access to our world class CAPM® coaches for four weeks so you can successfully pass the exam after completing this program.

Teachers will develop new professional capabilities to enhance their classroom instruction and professional management skills while receiving continuing education units through an International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET) Certified provider.

Course Overview:

This course consists of 85 hours over three phases:

Phase 1 - Getting started with PM

PM Strength Builder - In this five-hour course, you identify how your innate personality helps and challenges your abilities as a project manager. 

Cheetah Project Management - This 20-hour course teaches you how to launch, direct and manage project teams using methods aligned with the ANSI Standard Project Management Body of Knowledge.

Phase 2 - Getting PM Credentials

Part 1: Pre-Course – Complete and Submit Your CAPM® Eligibility Letter to PMI®. In this 23-hour Project Management training course you learn the fundamentals of Project Management and set up a customized CAPM® Exam Prep Online three-week study schedule. You complete and submit your CAPM® application to PMI® online for approval to sit for the exam. Once you receive your eligibility number, you schedule your CAPM® exam for three-to-four weeks out. You have one week from the date you start this pre-course to complete Part 1 activities and file your eligibility application with PMI®. You cannot start Part 2 until you have your exam eligibility number and have scheduled your CAPM® exam.

When successfully completed, this pre-course can satisfy PMI®'s requirement of 23-contact hours of Project Management education if you do not have the 1,500 hours of work on a project team.

Part 2:  Cheetah Exam Prep for the CAPM®- Online. 

Week 1 - Baseline exam, test-taking basics, mind mapping, integration, scope.

Week 2 - Baseline exam, time, cost, quality, human resources.

Week 3 - Baseline exam, communication, risk, procurement, final exam.

Each week includes activities to help you learn and remember key information you need to successfully pass the CAPM® certification exam. 

Part 3:  CAPM® Certification Exam

Take PMI®'s CAPM® certification exam within one week of completing the final exam of this course for peak performance.

Phase 3 - Getting to Work as a PM

Career Builder – This five-hour course teaches you how to leverage your Project Management skills to develop enhanced career opportunities. 0.5 CEUs/5 PDUs

You learn and demonstrate competency with the fundamentals of Project Management, proving you have the knowledge, skills, and attitude to lead projects and excel in Project Management.  Among the goals you achieve are:

  • Earn higher salaries as a certified project manager.
  • Develop a transportable set of skills that are valuable in any industry.
  • Learn how to leverage your innate strengths to excel in Project Management and to develop strategies to overcome those areas that might challenge you.
  • Clearly communicate with people on the project team and your customers about the project.
  • Determine exactly what you need to get started with your project and what represents completion (and success).
  • Align your budget with your overall goals and objectives, and create measurements to ensure your project meets your criteria.
  • Determine the staff and resources needed to complete the project, and define team members’ roles and responsibilities.
  • Record your lessons learned in a way that can be used to improve the way you manage your next project.
  • Pass the CAPM® Exam - plain and simple.

This Course Focuses On:
Audience: The Cheetah PM Fundamentals Online Certificate Program is designed for people interested in learning about or entering the field of Project Management. You do not need to have any Project Management or project manager experience (though you may be surprised to find out how much of what you do in your work and personal life is really a project). Our certificate program teaches you the fundamentals of Project Management and steps you through the process to become CAPM® certified.

Duration: The PM Fundamentals Online Certificate Program is 85 hours long. You can complete it in less than a month, but we recognize you may be juggling a career and family so we give you up to six months (183 calendar days) from the date you register to complete all the courses.
