Five-year Agreement will Help Build stc Project Management Capabilities through PMI Certifications
stc, a leading provider of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and advanced digital solutions, today announced a strategic partnership with Project Management Institute (PMI), the world's leading association for the project management profession, to build its project management capabilities. Included under the five-year agreement is that stc will pay the exam fees for more than 1,000 employees to pursue PMI certifications in project management, program management, portfolio management, agile practices, business analysis, and project scheduling.
The agreement builds on a long-standing relationship stc has with PMI Middle East and North Africa (MENA), as well as the Brightline Initiative, as it further demonstrates the organizations’ prioritization of training and capacity building. stc and PMI have committed to strengthening the community of project management professionals at stc through increased PMI certification opportunities. Earning a PMI certification signifies that the professional has mastered the strategies, tools, and skills needed to progress projects, which delivers value to their organization.

This new agreement will strengthen the work of stc Academy, which operates a state-of-the art training environment and enjoys the full support of stc top management. In addition, stc’s project execution department, which includes the corporate project management office (CPMO), sits at the heart of the organization’s strategy execution and has a mandate to drive strategy execution and value delivery. The project execution department, along with stc Academy, are heavily invested in enhancing the maturity of project management across the group. A main beneficiary of this initiative is expected to be the Special Development Program (SDP) headed by Dr. Shaker Al Mahasna.
