Peter Monkhouse is currently co-founder of NewGenP, providing consulting and training services to organizations focusing on the delivery strategy through products. In addition, Peter teaches project management courses at Ryerson University and University of Toronto. Peter is a co-author of the bestselling book Gen P New Generation of Product Owners Who Care about Customer.

Peter’s career is built on over 40 years of project, product and leadership experience. Throughout his career, Peter has actively led projects and project managers in the areas of education, consulting, engineering, information technology, health, and organizational change for multinational organizations. Over the past 20 years, Peter has taught over 6,000 students in Project Management in a variety of formats including classroom, online, and intensive formats.

In prior roles, Peter managed portfolios of continuing education certificates with over 6,000 enrollments, co-founded ZOOMtoLearn, and MonkArt. Peter has led programs of over 100 professionals and revenues over US$20 million per year implementing organizational change in the construction, software, telecommunications, academic, and non-profit sectors.

Peter is an accomplished speaker and presenter having been a keynote at conferences around the world. He regularly hosts webinars and runs workshops about project and product management.

Peter has been an active volunteer with PMI for over 25 years. Peter served on the PMI Board of Directors for six years and was the Chair of the 2012 PMI Board followed by serving for six years on the PMI Educational Foundation Board of Directors and was the Chair of the 2018 PMIEF Board. Peter is past president of the PMI Toronto Chapter. In addition, Peter has served on a number of PMI communities and is a PMI Fellow.

Peter was born in Toronto, Canada where he currently resides. He has as BSc(Eng) from Queen’s University, and his MBA from the University of Toronto.
