Richard J. Balfour, B. Eng., P. Eng.

A member of PMI since its earliest years, Mr. Balfour has long advocated for extensive research, the creation of an organized repository, and the sharing of project management knowledge. He has championed needs identification, conceptual development and definition as related to the project process in the PMBOK® documents. An active member of the PMI Southern Alberta Chapter, he has attended 15 PMI Seminars & Symposia and presented numerous papers. He produced a manual for the conceptual development and implementation of a successful PMI Seminars & Symposia and was Technical Project Manager for the PMI 1990 Seminars & Symposium in Calgary, Canada. Additionally, Mr. Balfour was project manager of the Members Option Report, which addressed the globalization of PMI. He was also an active proponent of a PMI Canadian entity to focus more directly on Canadian issues
